ANGF has entered a transitional phase to solidify the restructure of its Constitution and Bylaws. There is much work to be completed in order to offer members further extraordinary instruction and resources to increase ANGF's functionality. Therefore, the 2009 ANGF Conference will be an Informational Festival where ANGF members and interested parties can participate in the process of shaping ANGF's purpose, sign up for workshops, enjoy dance performances, network, and more.
Steering Committee (SC)
As agreed (by majority vote) the Executive Board will be the Steering Committee Chair. Each Steering Group (SG) will have a Committee Organizer (CO); the organizer is responsible for keeping a list of participants in their committee and relaying information to the Chair on the progress or issues that committee may have.
Steering Committee and Steering Group (SG) Responsibility (all members):
1. Be committed to participate at the meetings whether via internet, phone, or in person, and attend the Informational Festival,
2. Take responsibility for the project's feasibility, business plan and achievement of outcomes,
3. Ensure the committee's scope aligns with the purpose and vision of ANGF,
4. Provide those involved in the committee with guidance on issues, especially issues which may compromise the success of the committee,
5. Ensure that budgets are appropriate to ANGF resources,
6. Evaluate risks with groups proposed outline, and
7. Reconcile differences in opinion and approach and resolve disputes arising from them.
Role of SG
Create a Structure (not a policy-creation, but an outline of the structure):
- Annual calendar of projects/events/meeting dates
- Budgets
- Forms
- Liaisons within the Bylaws
- Role
Being part of a SG means that you will be a servant of the group, working for the greater good of the whole, with an attitude of being helpful, open, communicative and unbiased.
Steering Groups (SG)
A minimum of three members will be considered the quorum necessary to make a decision within the SG. In addition, effort will be made by SG to include as many interested parties as possible. Whenever a decision is made by the SG, the CO will communicate that decision to the full SC by email and at the next meeting.
If a member or a SC wants to "appeal" that decision they can ask the CO to consider the matter at the next scheduled meeting.
